Welcome to The Evolution Institute

Invite an Evolutionist to Your Next Policy Meeting

If you are a policy maker, the best way to explore the implications of evolutionary theory for your subject is by including an evolutionist in your policy-making process. Based on our extensive network of evolutionists spanning all disciplines, we can connect you with someone who is highly knowledgeable in your area and capable of applying the insights of evolutionary theory. Contact us to explore possibilities.

Evolution is an essential theory for understanding the living world—including our own species. Even our capacity for open-ended learning and culture evolved by genetic evolution and itself is an evolutionary process.

With understanding comes the capacity for improvement. The Evolution Institute is the first think tank that uses evolutionary theory to address the important policy issues of our day, such as childhood education, risky adolescent behavior, and the regulation of large-scale human social interactions. For each focal topic, we assemble the evolutionary expertise, examine the current state of knowledge, make recommendations about future basic research and applications, and assist in implementing the recommendations.

The Evolution Institute works by partnering with people and organizations that want to address a particular policy issue from an evolutionary perspective. Explore this website to discover how evolutionary theory can be used to understand and improve the human condition. Contact the directors if you wish to support the EI’s mission or explore developing a focal topic of your own.
